Iranian weightlifter clinches gold in Asian Cup

TEHRAN, Nov. 01 (MNA) – Rahman Uramheh of Iran won gold in 94kg category of Asian Cup & Asian Inter-Club Weightlifting Championships underway in South Korea.

On the fourth day of the Asian sportive event, Iran’s Rahman Urameh landed first in the 94-kilogram weight division after lifting 362 kilograms overall. Despite having the same record, his South Koreanr stood in the second place since Urameh was first to finish his attempts.

Accordingly, the South Korean representative settled for silver while an Uzbek weightlifter stood on the third podium with a total of 356 kilograms.

Earlier in the tournament, Ali Makvandi from Iran became champion in 85kg weight group after beating a total of 313 kilograms.

The 2017 Asian Cup & Asian Inter-Club Weightlifting Championships is underway in Yanggu, South Korea.
